Oregon vs. Long Beach State Game 2 [11/16/19]

By: Nathan Garcia

EUGENE - A defensive and chipy first period kept both teams scoreless after 20 minutes of play. Freshman goalie Rodney Peterson got the start and impressed once again.

The Ducks wasted no time in the 2nd, moving the puck around on the power play and eventually finding captain Warren Berg down low to make it 1-0 (19:08 assisted by Andrew Lee and Austin Charnholm).

Halfway through the second, Andrew Lee won a defensive zone face-off and decided to do the rest himself, taking it coast to coast and scoring to go up 2-0 (10:06 unassisted).

The short tempers and penalty minutes between both teams continued to grow during the 3rd, but it was Oregon who got the last laugh. Jack Geraghty (7:46 assisted by Trevor Shott and Andrew Lee) and Warren Berg (2:50 assisted by Andrew Lee) both put in goals to make it 4-1.

The Ducks continue to win games, improving to 11-1-0-1 on the season. They will back in Eugene again on the 22nd and 23rd of November to take on Western Washington.
