Isaiah Strategos Scores a Hat Trick in 9-6 Win

Bend, Oregon. -- After scoring seven the night before, the Ducks (15-4-0) put in nine on Saturday to beat the Broncos (8-10-1) in game two. A five goal first period along with an Isaiah Strategos hat trick helped lead the way to complete the outdoor sweep.
1st
Just 11 seconds in, the Ducks struck first as Liam Baird made it 1-0 (0:11 assisted by Jimmy Gagan).
Similarly to game one, Boise State wouldn’t take long to respond, tying the game 1-1 (3:11).
Jimmy Gagan would do it all himself to take back the lead, getting stopped on the breakaway but stealing it right back and finishing on his backhand to make it 2-1 (3:58).
Isaiah Strategos scored two back-to-back power play goals to make it 4-1 just halfway through the first period. (8:06 assisted by Connor Rendell and Austin Pultz) (9:34 assisted by Connor Rendell and Liam Baird).
Jimmy Gagan got his second of the period, this time with help from Liam Baird to go up 5-1 (13:31 assisted by Liam Baird and Hunter Voyles).
Boise State made it a three-goal deficit going into the second (14:18).
2nd
Nick Slayton needed just 23 seconds to get the scoring going again, burying a slap shot from the point to go up 6-2 (0:23).
Penalties from the Ducks allowed the Broncos to get back in the game as they scored two power-play goals to make it 6-4 (11:44 & 13:59).
Isaiah Strategos completed the hat trick with a highlight-reel goal, switching to his opposite hand to poke it on the breakaway (14:52 assisted by Kirt Fortney and Connor Rendell).
Griffin Minchin scored a true hockey buzzer-beater with one second left in the period to go up 8-4 (19:59 assisted by Tobin Fix).
3rd
Kirt Fortney got his team-leading 35th point of the season, scoring from a sharp angle to make it 9-4 (7:18 assisted by Connor Rendell and Austin Pultz)
Boise State would get the final two goals of the game but it was too little too late as the Ducks won 9-6 to complete the sweep.
Henry Bradford made 30 saves in net for the win.
