Oregon Falls 3-1 to Utah

SALT LAKE City, Utah. -- The Ducks (12-2-0) traveled to Utah to take on their 3rd ACHA D1 opponent of the season, The University of Utah (6-7-3). The last time these two teams met was on November 6th, 2015 when Utah was a member of Division 2. A late 2nd period game tying goal from Connor Rendell would give the Ducks hope but it wasn't enough as Utah won 3-1.
1st
Both teams spent the majority of the first feeling each other out, playing dump and chase, and now allowing any good chances.
As the period winded down, Utah finally got a break and capitalized, making it a 1-0 going into the locker room (19:37 McKay Pond assisted by Che Landikusic).
2nd
A back and forth 2nd period led to good chances on both ends. The Ducks got two powerplay chances but couldn't connect.
The Ducks would get a late period goal of their own. Connor Rendell buried a one timer from the slot to tie the game at 1-1 (19:47 assisted by Kirt Fortney and Liam Baird). Rendell leads the team with 15 goals in 15 games played.
3rd
Utah would score an early goal in the 3rd to go up 2-1 (0:33 Steven Pawlow assisted by Cole Musick).
The Ducks made a strong final empty net push but Utah would get the last goal making it a 3-1 final (19:58 Wyatt Light assisted by Dylan Dix).
