Head Coach Rylee Orr

 Rylee Orr joined the Oregon Ducks Hockey Club in 2017 after a successful career as a player. Rylee grew up in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, where he played hockey from ages four to sixteen. After finishing his minor hockey, he went on to have a notable junior career in Saskatchewan and British Columbia. 
Rylee also played for the Utah State University Aggies in Logan, Utah, where he accumulated 170 points in 109 games. He played a vital role as the Aggies competed in three national championship tournaments.


His performance in Logan led to his achievement of the most valuable player award as well as invitations to both the MWCHL Championship Team and the ACHA All-star Tournament. Following his career at Utah State, he played for the EHC Neuwied in the Regionalliga West in Germany where he led the team in goal scoring for the 2016/2017 season.


At of the end of the 2021-2022 season, Coach Orr has an overall winning percentage of .725 with a record of 78-28-5 as Head Coach of the Ducks hockey program.

Assistant Coach Christian Vivian


 Christian Vivian joined the Ducks coaching staff in 2018 after a playing career at Utah State where he played alongside Coach Orr. The Gig Harbor, WA native played goalie for the Aggies after a junior career where he played for several Pacific Northwest teams including the Seattle Totems (WSHL),  South Muskoka Shield (GMHL), West Sound Warriors (NPHL), and Puget Sound Tomahawks (NPHL).

Craig Thornton

 Joining the program in December of 2021, Craig Thornton brings a wealth of administrative experience to the Ducks program. Craig was instrumental in the rise of youth hockey in Phoenix, working under the great Jim Rogers.


 Craig took his talents to Las Vegas, where he founded the Faith Lutheran Prep High school program and in 4 seasons built it into a regional powerhouse, garnishing national attention. "I credit an enormous amount my success at Faith to the steadfast guidance of some very instrumental mentors within the Vegas Golden Knights organization." states Thornton.


  As the Ducks ascend into Division 1 play in 22'-23'

Craig plans to focus on the programs administrative growth, while also adding what he calls "his passion" he acquired from his days at City National Arena in Las Vegas, (the Corporate headquarters of the Golden Knights). "We're working hard to create a true game day experience for our Ducks Hockey fans in Eugene & Bend."
