2022-2023 Ducks Hockey Staff
Head Coach Kyler Moore
Coach Moore joins the Ducks as Head Coach and Head of Recruiting for the Inaugural '22-'23 D1 season. Kyler graduated the University of Mary with a Bachelor's in Computer Science Engineering and Associates from DCB in Marketing.
Growing up and playing his youth AAA hockey in Colorado Kyler embarked on a successful Junior career with the Bellingham Blazers (NPHL). He was named Captain in his rookie campaign and complied 96 points is two seasons before shifting his sights to the collegiate level, playing in North Dakota and eventually ending up at the University of Mary under renown Head Coach Dan Huntley where he compiled 163 points in four seasons, winning two ACHA National Championships.
Kyler resides in Corvallis Oregon with his girlfriend Kat and their three dogs Belu, Isley and Nolan, along with their two cats Bruce and Lina.
Assistant Coach Adam Gardner
Adam joins the Ducks staff for the '22-'23 season after a successful Goaltending career at both the University of Denver (ACHA D2) and Lake Forest College (NCAA D3).
Along with being a sought after Goalie Coach and trainer, Adam has coached numerous teams including the Portland Jr. Winterhawks, Sisak Knights (Croatian Hockey league) and the Lindberge Flyers in St.Louis.
Recently Adam also coached Lacrosse at Missouri Baptist
University in St. Louis where he obtained his Masters in Sports Management.
Adam and his partner Adina recently welcomed their first son Arley into the world, they live in Springfield, Oregon
General Manager Craig Thornton
Joining the program in December of 2021, Craig Thornton brings a wealth of administrative experience to the Ducks program. Craig was instrumental in the rise of youth hockey in Phoenix, working under the great Jim Rogers.
Taking his talents to Las Vegas, Craig founded the Faith Lutheran Prep High school program and in 4 seasons built it into a regional powerhouse, garnishing national attention. "I credit an enormous amount my success at Faith to the steadfast guidance of some very instrumental mentors within the Vegas Golden Knights organization." states Thornton.
As the Ducks ascend into Division 1 play in 22'-23'
Craig plans to focus on two core fundamentals he finds paramount. Presenting a product to the Division that is respected and competitive by both our peers and our fans, while also adding what he calls "his passion" he acquired from his days at City National Arena in Las Vegas, (the corporate headquarters of the Vegas Golden Knights). "We're working hard to create a true game day experience for our Ducks Hockey fans in Eugene & Bend."
Strength & Conditioning Coach Sarah Keepers
Since 2019 Sarah has been the Oregon Men's Hockey team Strength & Conditioning coach. All aspects of off-ice training including resistance workouts, cardiovascular endurance and full body conditioning are directed by Sarah.
Along with being a Certified Personal Trainer, Sarah is also a Certified Nutritional Coach, and oversee's the team's dietary routines. Sarah is also certified through the NASM (National Academy of Sports medicine) and is ACE certified as a Health and Group Fitness coach with the American Sports and Fitness association.
Along with her professional life at Elements Gym in Springfield, OR Sarah balances being a mother of four, while also training athletes one on one and is passionate in helping both men and women in all sports, reach their potential in conditioning and confidence.
